Training Wheels!!!

Lana is so excited that she can ride her bike. Well, that is until she had her first spill. But we're from the "fall off the bike and get right back on and ride it" mentality. The pictures above are literally seconds after the first time she tried it. Dani could only watch as her sister pedalled away.

Not in bed by 7 p.m.

We stayed outside today for almost 6 hours straight. Our finale was riding "bikes" to the park. Those who don't know, a ride to the park Lana prefers is about a 3/4 mile round trip. It took 45 minutes of travel time with Dani pushing herself the whole way.

Mommy's Mini Gardeners

It was 73 degrees today and we had so much fun outside. These little watering cans were purchased from Target's dollar rack and already have exceeded in value!

Slip-N-Slide!

This is the girls' first time trying out this historical backyard favorite. Yes, the age limit is 5-12, but I've decided age limits can be broken as long as there is strict parental supervision. Mommy got a bit of a workout helping the girls learn how to use it. I ended up having to hold onto the girls like "superman", and slide them down it.
Max ended up going inside soon after the fun began. He is definately a waterdog and thought he should try it out too. Although Gracie kept trying to "eat" the water, she didn't try slide like the human kids.

Another Beautiful Day!

Dani learns so much from her big sister. Here Lana is showing Dani the flowers that fell from our pear tree.

Rock Chalk, Jayhawk, KU

Lana & Dani were appropriately attired yesterday. On the spur of the moment we decided to drive to G&G Rags and watch the game with them.
Yes, that is a black eye you see on Dani. When DADDY was watching her Saturday, she fell into the coffee table.

Kid's Quote of the Day

"Look Mommy, I'm watching Jayhawk basketball! Get your camera and take a picture!"--Lana (just got my attention when I was posting the raindrops entry)

Raindrops Falling on our Heads

It rained all day today, but it didn't stop us from venturing outside. Both Lana and Dani had a great time, and had even more fun when they found a mud hole dug by Max. Mommy dug up some worms for them to look at too. And yes, when we were all done, we washed our hands and took a bath.

Lana Knows her Letters

Here's a bit of showing off!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

You all probably notice that we are missing a dog in the picture above (taken by Lana).

We had some very scary incidents yesterday in which our male schnauzer, Willie, snapped and became very aggressive and attacked Max 3 times without prevocation. The third time was extra scary, with him also biting Adrienne. For the safety of our children and other pets, we have decided to let him travel to the Rainbow Bridge. Hopefully one day we will all see him again Over the Rainbow where he will be happy, docile, and playing nicely with other dogs.

It was Innocent

The murmur fears have gone away. After seeing a pediatric cardiologist yesterday, Dani was declared healthy and has only an "innocent" murmur that will go away as she grows. She was so good, holding still for both the EKG and Echocardiogram. We were in and out in just an hour!

Piano Practice

Lana has asked Mommy to teach her how to play the piano. She's now so excited to be able to play "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". Mommy color-coded the keys along with the book and she can now play it slowly.
Lana has also started asking how to spell words. She starts saying random words and asks how to spell them. Because she is showing an interest, Mommy has developed flashcards and is teaching Lana how to read.

Lana's 1st Pony Ride

Lana was very excited to finally be old enough to ride a pony. You wouldn't have know it was her 1st time. She got up on "Cowboy" like she's done it before. She has started asking for a horse (sound familiar G&G Rags?).

Feeding the Goats

The Petting Zoo is OPEN!

Today was opening day for our county's petting zoo. Although it was 40 degrees today, we all bundled up and had a great time!
